Open Letter to the Coalition Government of Aotearoa New Zealand

Since the new coalition government gained power in November 2023, we have witnessed a relentless assault on Māori institutions, culture, Te Tiriti o Waitangi rights, aspirations for sovereignty, co-governance arrangements, and people. As an organisation representing academics and students in Anthropology in Aotearoa New Zealand, we cannot remain silent while this attack on Indigenous peoples continues.

Kākano Fund 2024 - Round Two applications now open

We are pleased to invite applications for Round Two of the Kākano Fund Award from students enrolled during 2024 in a degree course for a BA Hons or MA in Social and/or Cultural Anthropology. Consideration will also be given to PhD students if funding permits. Students must be enrolled in a Social or Cultural Anthropology graduate programme at a New Zealand university. Round Two applications are due on Monday 14 October 2024.
